Project Manager/Senior Programmer Analyst

Required Experience

• 8+ years of total professional experience
• 7+ years at a hedge fund, fixed income asset manager, investment bank, financial software vendor, or capital markets data vendor
• 3+ years as a hands-on technical project manager and/or development lead
• 5+ years of hands-on object-oriented development

Preferred Experience

• 3+ years of building any of the following types of systems:
• Order Management
• Collateral Management
• Portfolio Accounting
• Trade Compliance
• Risk/Portfolio Management

Required Technical Skills

• Advanced knowledge of C++ or .NET (C#)
• Proficiency in MS SQL
• Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint
• Exposure to SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
• Software development life cycle

Required Business Knowledge/Skills

• Fixed income products including corporate, government, MBS, ABS, and bank debt
• Derivatives including CDS and options
• Trade order workflow, settlement process, or portfolio accounting
• Performance calculations including IRR, TWR, and attribution
• Excellent communication skills; ability to interface with C-level executives, traders, accountants, and developers

Required Education

• Undergraduate degree from top-tier university

Responsibilities

• Work closely with firm’s trading desk, operations, compliance, and accounting group to establish functional requirements for any process enhancements, including new system development, new functionality, version upgrades, and reporting requirements
• Manage project scope, resource, and schedule
• Manage and participate in testing prior to software rollout
• Manage 3rd-party data/software vendors
• Provide software/subject matter expertise in supporting end-users and general system support
• Various new projects: analyze multiple trading desks’ current workflow to establish requirement for process enhancement, implement order management solution for MBS desk, and security master
